Apple Pay may be coming to Target stores in the U.S. soon

In a response to a customer quesion on Twitter, U.S. retail giant said it is working on implementing the infrastructure needed to accept Apple Pay in physical stores in the future. Responding to a Target customer, the @AskTarget Twitter account tweeted that “Apple pay is awesome,” and that “we're working on getting this Technology in our stores.”Since Apple Pay is accepted at around 35 percent of all stores in the U.S. — which may not sound like a lot but actually amounts to over 4 million physical outlets — Target would be doing the sensible thing to follow suit. However, although the information originates from an official Target account, the tweet might have been issued by a representative on Target's social media team, so it is entirely possible that it is not 100 percent accurate.Apple Pay is currently supported in Target's mobile app but not in physical stores. In 2015, the retailer's CEO hinted at the possibility of accepting Apple's contactless payment service in its stores across the U.S. but on official statements have been made since.

@_MAlN - Apple pay is awesome! We're working on getting this Technology into our stores. We'll catch up with the 21st century soon!
